NCTM
The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics is a public voice of mathematics education, providing vision, leadership, and professional development to support teachers in ensuring mathematics learning of the highest quality for all students.
The AMTE is a non-profit organization created to promote the improvement of mathematics teacher education in all its aspects.
An organization that advocates for reforms in a broad range of teacher policies at the federal, state, and local levels in order to increase the number of effective teachers. The site has reports and databases on education issues.
President George W. Bush created the National Mathematics Advisory Panel (National Math Panel) in April 2006. The panel was charged with providing recommendations to the President and U.S. Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings on the best use of scientifically based research to advance the teaching and learning of mathematics.
